Apple is set to sell the world’s first “Record” smartphone for $2,499 at its iPhone 8 event, a source close to the company told CNBC.
The “Record,” which will go on sale Friday, comes with a 4.7-inch OLED display and a metal back with an optical fingerprint sensor.
The device comes with 256GB of storage, and will be available in either 32GB or 64GB models.
Apple is not releasing pricing for the device.
It’s expected to be available starting in the third quarter.
